Luther Bernstein was born and raised in the Dallas area. After graduating from Crozier Tech High School, Luther attended the University of Houston where he obtained a Bachelor's of Science degree in Psychology. Upon completion of his degree at the University of Houston, Luther returned to the Dallas area where he attended the University of Texas at Dallas Graduate School of Management.
Mr. Bernstein moved to Farmers Branch in 1971 and has resided there ever since. Luther built Josey Skateland in 1972 and operated it for 26 years. In 1982 he built Interskate Roller Rink in Lewisville and continues to operate it today. He joined Brookhaven Country Club in 1976 and continues to be an active and respected member of the Farmers Branch community, including serving as a member of the Farmers Branch Chamber of Commerce.
Professionally, Luther has followed his true passion and devoted his life to roller-skating. He has served as a coach for both artistic and speed skaters in the U.S. and abroad, including coaching a combined 25 national champions. After several years of coaching, Mr. Bernstein accepted an assignment with the Australian Skating Federation and spent one year coaching in Brisbane, Australia. In addition, he has built and operated eleven different roller rinks, including Josey Skateland, Interskate, Garland Skateland, Hurst Skateland, Forum Roller World in Grand Prairie, Big Wheel in Arlington, Red Bird in Duncanville and Skateland in Euless. Mr. Bernstein's professional accomplishments extend beyond owning and operating skating rinks. In addition to developing and manufacturing his own line of roller skates, Luther has successfully built a handful of e-commerce businesses and a retail store which operate out of a central office located next to Interskate Roller RInk.
Despite a long and successful professional career, Luther continues to seek out and embrace new challenges. Witnessing a need for change within his own city's government, Mr. Bernstein has decided to take it upon himself to see that his community, Farmers Branch, which he loves, continues to prosper and grow for the benefit of all its residents.

We have an important mission ahead of us between now and June 21, and that mission is to Get Out The Vote! The Mayoral Race and the Council District 2 Race are both up for a Runoff election so we have a wonderful opportunity to speak to the future of our city by stepping up to vote.
Luther Bernstein is my choice for the council seat currently held by his run-off opponent. Luther is a businessman, an investor in our city, a man of courage and commitment and a fine gentleman. He has walked the streets of District 2 to visit personally with our neighbors. His skills as a listener and a doer will serve Farmers Branch well. He has listened to the concerns of our neighbors and will do what is fair and right as his constituents vote and ask him to do; he will do this with openness and accountability. Luther believes in Transparent Government and teamwork; he is not content to sit by. He is well-acquainted with the needs of our City and has the tenacity and the where-with-all to search for the truth in every situation.
Luther sees the good in people and is an honest, honorable man. Our city needs a person with a positive, broad vision for growth, to attract families and businesses to relocate here. Luther has a passion to improve Farmers Branch, and he will be a strong and insightful member of the Council that will bring this to fruition.
Let’s elect Luther Bernstein and invest in our future!
Sincerely,
Your Neighbor and Friend,
Maryanne Pfeffer
